1. Solar Conduction Dryer won grand prize at Dell Social Innovation Challenge held at Austin US. Solar Conduction Dryer is the solar powered food dehydrator that allows farmers to process their fruits and vegetables to reduce food losses and get more profit through sells of dehydrated products. The technology developed by S4S Team and Institute of Chemical Technology, received seed funding of US $ 60,000 (Rs. 32 Lakh) at Dell Social Innovation Challenge, USA. The seed funding is provided to build business around Solar ConductionDryer. The innovation is selected from 2600 start ups around the globe from 110 countries.Solar Conduction Dryer is now available in market through our website (http://scienceforsociety.co.in/). The new website of www.solarconductiondryer.com will be launched in next few days.

2. Bill and Milinda Gates foundation, USA has announced that it will support further development of solar conduction dryer for grain drying to reduce 10% losses those occur during storage. The technology will be useful to framers and seed companies. Foundation will fund $1,00,000 in round I and after successful completion it will fund round II funding of $ 1 million. Award by Bill and Milinda Gates Foundation is unique way identifying break through innovations across the globe.
